YRIHN had been invited to organise the Integrated Care University on Wednesday, April 10th from 1.00 - 5.00pm, "Doing Integrated Care Research: the Essential Skills." The short course poved to be a huge success and many more participants turned up than anticipated. In order to get to know everyone, we started with a speed networking exercise, which worked really well and was a lot of fun. Afterwards three presentation dealing with the theory and concept of integrated care, patient preferences and doing research in integrated care, as well as research-based practice, gave a comprehensive overview of the status quo of integrated care. The presentations were followed by lively discussions. The success of the formate porved that there is a big need for such training courses and we will endeavour to broaden our portfoliio. ECHE 2012 - "Progress in Health Economics"
Zürich, Switzerland, July 18 - 21 2012
The European Conference on Health Economics (ECHE) was held in Zürich this time and YRIHN was invited to organise a pre-conference on Wednesday, July 18th from 2.00 - 5.00pm. The pre-conference was chaired by Viktoria Stein and Susanne Bethge with special appearances by Tom Getzen, Executive Director of iHEA, and Volker E. Amelung, CEO of Bundesverband Managed Care in Germany. The programme and the slides are availbale for download now.
After a very touching opening speech by Tom Getzen, Viktoria and Susi shared their experiences with the participants on how to structure research, how to write and publish an article and how to give a convincing presentation. In addition we presented common pitfalls and mistakes which are easily avoided. In the second part of the session, two YRIHN members, Iwona Bielska and Artem Boltyenkov gave presentations on the status quo of their PhD and received constructive feedback on their abstracts, topics and presentation.
As this pre-conference proved to be a success, we have been invited to organise a similar pre-conference at the iHEA conference in Sydney next year. You can find more inforamtion on that in the Upcoming Events.
